Previously
A deadly virus affecting both organics and robotics swept the northern sectors of the Galaxy, sparking a war between the afflicted and the remaining factions. After nearly a year of defensive battles and co-ordinated operations, the war finally ended at the Battle of Ruin. The end of the war saw increased relations between the GSU, Imperium and Santori as they all agreed on a two year ceasefire to mend the damages caused by the crisis.

After these two years the factions signed the Santori Accords, an agreement proclaiming their united efforts to uphold Celestial law, including the protection of innocent life in case of another galactic threat. Following this meeting the Highrock Clans decided to join the Santori Protectorate, expanding their territory by almost double.

Galactic Date
Whilst each planet has their own personal Dates and Times, most of them adhere to the Galactic Standard Calendar when communicating with eachother.

Current Events
The Reich, a returning faction of magic-haters, resurface and initiate a purge of the planet Ordriey, destroying it entirely in the process. This event has made all of the Major Factions uneasy, even though each of them has bigger concerns of their own. Not only are there issues for these powers to deal with, but more factions are rising from the ashes of the Helix War, populating the galaxy once again.

Meanwhile, the Celestial Architect Sam'anar has discovered a way to reverse large parts of the Convergence, sending back many of the planets it had brought into the galaxy. Whilst this move has saved many from unwanted threats, it has also shifted the layout of the galaxy drastically. Because of this, new star-charts have been drawn out with Hyperlanes, allowing them to show the quickest and safest routes between planets.

Name: Blood Tear
Owner: Regulus
Creator: Manvare Cult

Development Thread: http://convergencewars.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=587 (15 posts)

Type: Ring
Use: Blood Magic
Rarity: Unique

Strengths
Grants the ability to use blood magic
Provides the smallest modicum of protection
Very difficult to break

Weaknesses
Effects are only transmitted while worn
Does not mitigate the dangerous side effects of blood magic

Description
The blood tear is a ring forged from large amounts of highly magical blood, fey, elves, dragons, mages and all of the rest. All of that blood was then infused with more magic from each member of the cult for many months in order to further enhance it's magical properties. From there the power was contained in a titanium ring, conferring all of it's power into the ring and from there to anyone that wears it.

Type: Scythe
Ammo: Souls
Rarity: Unique

Strengths
Has a long reach
Summons servants
Can empower Necromancy

Weaknesses
Limited Capacity (20 souls)
Difficult to use in tight spaces
For melee is usually only fully effective if used with two hands
If no one dies nearby it is just a weapon only

Description
Spirit Cleaver at first glance appears to be made out of metal, with the blade made of a type of bone that is far harder than what you'd normally see. Situated just below the blade near the end of the handle is a near complete skull with a long lolling tongue that will whip about as if it has a mind of it's own.

When a living creature dies near to the wielder its spirit will be absorbed by the scythe and held, from there it can either be used through necromancy to summon some form of undead or to empower a necromantic spell or magic used by the wielder.

If the scythe is triggered by it's master it can be left to float in the air in what is named as it's autonomous mode. While in this mode it will remain where it is and constantly draw in souls from nearby deaths, whenever a soul is consumed it will instantly be used to summon an undead, with the wielder still being able to control what type of undead are spawned if they wish or they can simply allow it to continually spawn lesser types. This mode will deactivate when the wielder touches the staff and chooses to do so, or when it is otherwise moved from it's position, this taking a fair amount of strength to do.

Now that he had the brain capacity he could perform calculations and process data far faster than he could before, and that was why he was typing data in with both hands into two separate terminals in order to devise a method of cloning himself as many times as was physically possible. His goal would require a large amount of manpower and a similar amount of secrecy, no one else could ever know what it was that he was going to do, although if things went to plan it wouldn't matter how many people knew as they'd still be unable to affect things. Still, if he could help it he'd rather have the entire thing kept unknown by everyone else in the universe as that way if there was even some minuscule chance that they could come and corrupt his last bastion then it could be found, if they didn't know it existed then there was no way that they could go there.

In order to make his vault however he would need manpower, and that manpower he hoped to provide through clones of himself, that way he could be sure that no one other than himself would ever know of the project being undertaken nor it's purpose. Cloning is a delicate procedure however and his clones had to be perfect in order to properly assist in creating and then running his vault, it was just a simple matter that cloning was something he'd never attempted before, still there was a first time for everything and this was something that he did need for his plans to continue.

Now that he had the crystal fragment in hand and was rapidly building his hoard up from the measly little collection that it currently was, he'd had the time to come up with the full plan now and how to use the crystal in order to make himself a space to store all of his collection in that no one could ever penetrate. With his completed vault he would then have a central base for himself that would be only available to him, of course first he needed the manpower to build such an area and he was not going to be using anyone else for that task as they'd have to go there first and if someone else went there then the whole place could potentially be compromised and then there was no point making it from the beginning. The only person that could go there would have to be him, but he couldn't build such a large and complex place as he was going to need by himself, it would take many of his own life spans to do so and of course he'd be dead long before it was even a fraction of the way towards completion.

What he needed in essence was an army of people completely and infallibly loyal to him that would help him build and operate the vault that he was planning to make. It was a difficult thing to achieve, simple cloning wouldn't do it as that would allow all of them to still have free will and even the slightest blip in their free will could cause a tiny crack in the defenses of his vault that someone could then use to gain access to his hoards. That could not be allowed.

To those in the know, or rather those who were constantly searching and gathering new information on just about anything that they could possibly find, knowledge of the small moon Arflan deep in the uncharted sector was quite common knowledge. Moon was probably even a bit of an over exaggeration as realistically it couldn't be considered anything more than a particularly large asteroid. Approximately a mile in diameter it sailed through space seemingly in random directions, knowing of it wasn't the difficult part, finding it most definitely was. Finding out more about it than it's existence was also difficult, most people just passed it off as another of the millions of asteroids flying randomly through space, without knowing the truth of it.

In reality the asteroid housed a small colony , primitive though they were, the entire point of which was grounded in the usage of earth magic. Each of them were trained in the art and the colony boasted many masters of it's useage that kept their colony safe from outsiders with malicious intent as well as shaping the rock of the asteroid into the things that they needed, as such it was a place of many crafts and relics formed of earthen magic that never made it outside of the confines of this asteroid's atmosphere.

In true fashion there was a piece here that he'd heard about, one that would enable him to use his own inborn mana, of which he had quite a large amount, and replicate their abilities with earth magic should he be willing to put in the time and effort. Of course he was willing to do it, but first of all he needed to obtain this item that would allow him the chance to do so.
