Previously
A deadly virus affecting both organics and robotics swept the northern sectors of the Galaxy, sparking a war between the afflicted and the remaining factions. After nearly a year of defensive battles and co-ordinated operations, the war finally ended at the Battle of Ruin. The end of the war saw increased relations between the GSU, Imperium and Santori as they all agreed on a two year ceasefire to mend the damages caused by the crisis.

After these two years the factions signed the Santori Accords, an agreement proclaiming their united efforts to uphold Celestial law, including the protection of innocent life in case of another galactic threat. Following this meeting the Highrock Clans decided to join the Santori Protectorate, expanding their territory by almost double.

Galactic Date
Whilst each planet has their own personal Dates and Times, most of them adhere to the Galactic Standard Calendar when communicating with eachother.

Current Events
The Reich, a returning faction of magic-haters, resurface and initiate a purge of the planet Ordriey, destroying it entirely in the process. This event has made all of the Major Factions uneasy, even though each of them has bigger concerns of their own. Not only are there issues for these powers to deal with, but more factions are rising from the ashes of the Helix War, populating the galaxy once again.

Meanwhile, the Celestial Architect Sam'anar has discovered a way to reverse large parts of the Convergence, sending back many of the planets it had brought into the galaxy. Whilst this move has saved many from unwanted threats, it has also shifted the layout of the galaxy drastically. Because of this, new star-charts have been drawn out with Hyperlanes, allowing them to show the quickest and safest routes between planets.

Orion Station.

Home to the Orion Guild of Expert Enforcers {O.G.E.E} or as it's more commonly known, the Orion Bounty Hunter Guild.

This self-efficient,mobile station has served as the hub for some of the galaxy's best, brightest and often brutal bounty hunters bound by the code that entitles them higher then most other bounty hunters in the galaxy and many make the mistake of believing their members to be too pompous for the price of their contracts, usually these contractors return to Orion after spending more then their fair share in third party bounty hunters. Many agree that the best way to take out high-profile contracts was through the guild. The station was maintained by a race of small-monkeylike creatures that acted as servants to the local hunters who all owned a share in the station splitting up profits between those who finish contracts into a pool that covered expenses of the station and the equipment and training of the members themselves.

For almost 100 years Orion Station has drifted across space, uncontested and unspoiled.

But that was all about to change in the haze of anger and deceit.

Cedric sat at her little pilots model making sure that everything was running smoothly. Nothing seemed to be wrong at the moment which of course made her pretty happy. The sound of the humming and the sound of the engines running as well at the tech was her favorite thing about the ship. She'd take out a bottle of beer and start to drink it resting her feet on the dashboard for a moment. Her bracers were on but that didn't bug her as it help with some of the discomfort and allowed her to move like a normal person. "Its just about lunch time ladies," She'd say smiling, "then hopefully a little bit of paper work." She'd tell the ship and equipment stretching carefully. [i]Someone ring that food bell[/i} She think but looking at the clock she realized she miss calculated and sighed, "Damn it another two hours, just the way i like it to be." She chuckle to herself typing in more information and commands to the ship.

Jagos slowly approaches the station from the cockpit of his small Warthog Class light frigate known as the Rebel Scorcher. The HUD to the side gave him a detailed rundown of Orion Station from its armaments to its personnel. From the description he was given, he came to a conclusion that the station had zero tolerance for any funny business. Apart from a skirmish with a small force of Gyro's bloodthirsty men, the journey had been relatively easygoing. He was just happy to finally be closing in on the destination of his client Kaiyan Vivar.

He pulled his ship to a stop and powers down the weapons. While he was here he may as well try to get into their good graces. Considering that many other bounty hunters visited the station it was very likely that there would be contracts there that he and his crew could undertake.

He pressed a button on his console and attempted to open communications with the station. "Hello? Orion Station? This is the Rebel Scorcher. Requesting permission to dock as we are currently escorting a VIP who requested to be brought here."
___

Jean's room was a soft gray, complete with a green holotablet on a small durasteel desk that allowed her to increase her knowledge of the galaxy and the species that inhabited it from the various sources that would spawn from the intuitive searches that she would go on. To the right was a small bed that was built into the wall and could be closed off by a glass slider should she desire privacy. In the center was a circular rug that was created with the finest fabric that Earth could offer.

Kaiyan currently occupied the room.

Outside was a knock. "Kaiyan, are you in there? We've arrived at Orion Station!" announced the voice of Jean Fournier, the lady who was kind enough to offer him her room from the start.

The Nemesis was almost invisible against the blackness of space. Almost unnoticed by the hangar crew until it drew very near to the shield door of one of Orion Station's many hangar bays.

The ship's dark appearance was an ominous sight, so much so that it caused every worker in that room to turn and watch as it swfitly passed through the shield door and lowered itself onto the floor. The only thing that gave the vessel even the slightest signs of visibility was the fact that it reflected the light from the stars in space, as well as the dull blue glow of the ship's thrusters.

The engine powered off, and the blue glow died down quickly. The ship stood a few meters off the floor on several support legs that slid out from under the ship. Just then, right from the belly of the ship, a platform descended. On it, stood none other that Xytan himself.

The nine foot tall, robotic humanoid was just as intimidating in his appearance as the ship in which he traveled - perhaps even more so. As when the platform finally landed on the floor, everyone in the hangar made the conscious precaution not to get in his path as he made his way towards the exit.

Through the double doors was a corridor that lead straight towards an elevator. Xytan entered into it and, without even touching any of the buttons, the elevator started to ascend upwards. Personally, he disliked using these things, but they seemed to be the fastest way of getting about the place. His large size just about fit inside the cramped conditions, and often he witnessed other hunters and workers on the station refraining from entering the same elevator as him.

The doors slid open as he arrived on the third floor. One of the bars were located here. Already he could hear the chatter and laughter from all the different individuals socialising inside. Though, that was not his destination. He made his way down several corridors before reaching what looked like a flat screen mounted on a wall. Several other screens lined either side of this corridor, and a few other hunters stood in front of some of them.

Xytan took out a small cylindrical piece of metal and inserted it into a port on the top centre of the screen. The screen flickered to life, and displayed his balance on the cylinder. He navigated himself towards the "Requisitions" section where he uploaded confirmation of his latest assassination; video clips, news reports, images, etc. The screen confirmed his contract as complete and transferred a million credits into his account. Xytan extracted the cylinder and walked out of the area.

As Davin sat behind his desk, reassambling his gun into a new formation, he looked out of his window, he saw thousands of stars. wondering off he thought where they were now. when he was done he put the tools back into the drawer. His eyes saw a picture with four persons on it and took a glimpse at his this picture. It was one of the last memories he has before he crashed onto that unpopulated planet. he lay the picture down back into the drawer and walked out of the room.

As the 'Rebel Scorcher was given clearance to land it slowly aligned towards one of the docks.

Kaiyan at this stage was in meditation, placing himself in a trance that allowed him to clear his mind whilst his body rested. Slow and deep breaths was all that he could hear, his eyes closed as he recollected on thoughts entering a state of bliss.....There was something that irked him......An desert......But not one he was familiar with.....He felt something watching him, through the walls into the grey room....

Then Jean knocked startling Kaiyan as he quickly came back into the fray

Quickly recollecting himself he breathed once again before he replied in a slightly irritated tone. "I'll be there in a second." He said as he got to his feet. He wore the tattered vest of a pirate he helped slay during an attack on the way here. It would do at least until he can find replacement gear. He took the small laser pistol he 'liberated' from one of the former pirates and holstered it on a rather loose belt before he opened the door and stepped out to meet Jean.

Her friendly face would garner some relief to the reptilian as he quickly glanced to the sides of the corridor.

"So we are here.....Your hospitality was most welcome." He says bowing his horned head slightly raising it as he spoke again. "Gather the rest of your party....After the recent brawl I'm sure the facilities on the station itself would be to your liking." He begins to turn and walk down the corridor towards the ship airlock entrance.

{Going to treat this as a gm would,I may end up railroading some as not to deviate too much from the thread plot}

Onboard the station was lively with bounty hunters from the all across the galaxy interacted with one another, most frequented bars telling half-drunken tales of daring hunts around tables of peers while some made use of the training facilities and various shops owned by trusted collectors and shopkeeps that help supply the Guild.

Some simply carried on to the central part of the station where Requisitions stood,it was here where a contract was fulfilled with proof of kill and other trivialities before a hunter could withdraw money from the vault. Xytan was one of these hunters who withdrew the payment made by his contractor from the Vault into his personal account. Once the transaction was complete he walked out and wandered the station eventually running into an old colleague. Kaiyan Vivar he would remember alongside several others he would not,it was a bit unusual to see Kaiyan without his robes or armour, the reptilian immediately recognized the tall robot and bowed his head with a smile before saying. "Ah the Freelancer still walks among us.....How was your bounty?" He says his eyes flashing once towards the cylinder.

Davin traversed the commercial section of the station, once having frequented it before a few days ago to purchase parts for his weapon. As he passed by some of the small monkey-like servants the station residents would call 'Cebins' {After the Capuchin monkey they resembled} he could hear them complaining about a strange drag that only slightly slowed down the station's rotation around the barren desert planet it currently used as a gravitational anchor, they figured it was interference from the disruptive engines of the recently docked ships,as they noticed Davin they started to scatter back to work.

For Cedric there was nothing bothering her as she played around with her ship's console, but as she finished a command there was a slight delay and flicker to the console before it processed and all seemed normal.

Cedric blinks and leans over looking at the monitor, it has never done that before at all. With a curious look she would run through everything all over again on one of the screen for a second but seeing no change she smiles and goes back to work as she calls over the head, "Can someone please go down and check out the wiring and systems please? Had a bit of lag with one of my recent entries. Thank you!" She'd sound calm but still it seemed not right. She'd grumble some and page Xytan, "Sorry boss but something that never happened before happened, I have a bad feeling about it. Like baaad the sort of bad you get when your wife goes into labor." She'd continue her work and running diagnostics at the same time. Still rathering having it be a false alarm then a complete disaster. "Just wanted to let you know to keep a small eye out incase something fishy happens. Which they probably wont but just in case."

Jagos docked his ship next to a small vessel that appeared to be outfitted for bombing purposes and powered it down. He then exited to the airlock where he found Kaiyan waiting to leave. His hand pulled a nearby lever and the door slid open. The ramp extended forward and down towards the hangar floor where the Varanus could make his departure. Before he left Jagos said to him, "Good luck to you man."

The other members of his crew soon arrived in the airlock with their gear. Ivan glanced outside for a moment and said, "You know boss, I think I'm in the mood for some R&R here."

"So many other strong individuals here. I wonder if they know how to fight," Nev the Orc commented, his machine gun strapped to his back along with his combat axe and machete.

"This station houses some of the deadliest bounty hunters in the galaxy Nev. I'm sure that a few of them could take you down in five seconds flat," Jean joked with a wink at Nev, who snorted in annoyance at the jab. She continued to watch Kaiyan for a moment.

"Leaving me to drag your dumbass back to the ship for healing," Staffan said as he adjusted his sleeves.

"Come on you all, let's get down there," Jagos said with a chuckle.

The crew of four humans and an Orc proceeded down the ramp. Jagos pressed a button on his wrist and said ramp receded back into the ship with the airlock sealing in front of it.

Now all five stood in the hangar bay.

Jean turned to her crew members and said, "I'm going to check out this station's archives if it has any. Yes the net has information, but nothing beats the horse's mouth."

With that, she walked off in search of a map of the station to see if there were any archives she could visit during their stay.

Ivan turned to Jagos and said, "I'll stick by her. You never know what slime lurks about in the place like this."

He followed after Jean, leaving the bounty hunter to roll his eyes.

Likewise, Xytan instantly recognised Kaiyan. Notably, he wasn't in armour, making him for a brief moment wonder what sort of experiences he had gone through since Xytan last saw him.

"Quick and painless," Xytan replied to Kaiyan's question. "My contractor was hoping that the assassination would liberate a large sum of civilians from the shackles of slavery. My job was already done by then, however." Xytan tossed the cylinder a few inches into the air with a flick of his wrist. It spun in the air a few times before landing back in his hand.

Kaiyan was one of the very few Xytan truly considered a friend and an ally. Such people were indeed rare and only to them did he converse more freely. As of recent, he found such encounters a refreshing experience, even for someone such as himself.

"And yourself? I assume you have also been busy?" Xytan asked him. A few seconds later, the comm-link in his helmet came to life with the voice of Cedric, reporting some sort of malfunction she experienced with her equipment.

"Acknowledged," Xytan replied to her. "If you experience anything similar, I recommend running a diagnostic check on your equipment. If the fault persists, then you should see to replacing the equipment." Xytan instructed her. Cedric was another hunter he happened to run into while working on a contract. As it turned out, their contractor had put out multiple entries for the same bounty, and the two briefly clashed as to who would deserve the bounty.

At the end of the day, Xytan allowed her to take 60% of it as she had proven that she took up the contract a few hours before he did. They swiftly managed to execute the objective in question and the both of them returned to the station together. Ever since, they shared a few conversations and she became something of a colleague to him.

"About that." He tried his best to hide his snarl as he began to grow angry at himself for letting this happen.

He considered Xytan to be a brother of sorts, under all that cold 'Mechra' skin was courage and honour, one that could only come from the beat of a warrior's heart. Even now he hesitated to speak in front of the towering hunter as his mind tried to find the words for it.

"My da......My apprentice...You remember...The young human Cassandra. She was captured by beings I cannot recall....I lost my ship.....My data drone....My armour and my weapons....Taken from me and dumped upon a forgettable station in the south by my own people.....If it wasn't for the aid of Jagos-Ka and his crew I would never have arrived here."

He looked behind Xytan and around the crowds that passed them some exchanging glaces at the tall Freelancer. "I may need some help.....I already promised all my stored credits in the Vault to be transferred to Jagos-Ka for his aid....I ask of you to help me save my daughter." He shook his head, looking down at the floor as he spat in frustration "Apprentice."

Jean and Ivan left seeking the station's archive section,as they walked through they would occasionally notice groups of hunters would glance towards them for a split second and then return to their conversations, leaving a feeling that not many new faces are seen on the station but also a feeling that these hunters simply did not care. There was also large numbers of small monkey like creatures either dressed in tiny butler uniforms or the uniform of spaceport engineers as they tended to the needs of the hunters and the station.

It was not long before the pair found the archive section, the southwestern hall adjacent the central power rooms, here a trove of digitally collected data stood across various consoles and a large circular orb that projected a third-dimensional image of the mapped galaxy. Most of the information on the station related to important figures, factions and locations but it was a well-documented archive nonetheless.

Jagos,Nev and Staffan found themselves standing in one of the hub spaces of the station, there was signs that pointed to various bars, stores and even more 'adult' entertainments scattered to the left and right. Jagos due to his high degree of perception noticed something....Off....The digital signs would flicker for a split second before returning to normal. It might be due to some slight power surge or maintenance work but it left him with a eery feeling.

Cedric at her console would notice this slight surge as well, there was a very faint signal of something that quickly drained a small amount of the stations power before dissapearing, she could guess that it was due to the maintenance work of the Cebins but at the same time it did not make sense.

"Yeeeaaah fuck this." Cedric says pushing out her chair with a leaver and strapping back on her bracers around her legs. Carefully getting up she would put her ship on sleep mode and would go to find other engineers after doing what Xytan recommended her to do.... even if she had already done it once before. "Xytan it's happened again but this time there was a damned surge and a faint signal of some sorts of something draining the station's power! It doesn't make a single bit of sense. I'm on the way to the main interface for the whole ship," She's say quietly as she walked down the hallway with the slight limp trying not to trip on anyone, "Like the Cebins are working on something but they would've done it sooner then now and with more frequancey."

She knew the ships and stations infrastructure but she couldn't imagine something like this ever happening in her work and stay in the station. After a ffew minutes she'd walk off the elevator and passes Xytan and his friend along the way weaving around them and wave her greetings before speedily as she could disappeared around the corner. "Did as you told me commander by the way!" She'd call back.

"Those monkey creatures are kind of cute," Jean commented as she strolled up to one of the consoles and began to scour through the database for a lengthy and detailed history lesson on Orion Station. As soon as she found it, she began to indulge herself in the wealth of information presented to her.

"I could have sworn you and Kaiyan had some chemistry," Ivan joked as he sat in one of the archive hall's many chairs.

"Oh screw off Ivan. Nothing wrong with expanding your knowledge," Jean responded with a brief glare at her fellow engineer before she returned to reading about the history of the station that she was currently on.

Ivan scanned the area, looking for a book or something that may as well keep him busy for the time being.

______

Jagos noticed the flickering digital lights and he thought to himself, "Probably a small malfunction. Hopefully the engineers fix it quickly."

In the back of his mind though, he couldn't help but sense how it was a bit...ominous.

Nev broke the visage by blurting out, "Blah, I need a drink! Where's the closest bar on this thing!?"

He strolled off in search of a bar followed by Staffan, feeling that he would have to save his Orc friend's behind once more. They both come to the nearest bar and Nev stomped straight up to the bartender. He slammed down his fist and bellowed out, "I'll take the strongest load of booze you got!"

Staffan looked around at all of the other patrons, taking note of their race, size, and equipment. If Nev were to start another bar fight, then it would be quite the spectacle unless these customers were the sort that were heavily disciplined, meaning that the Orc would quickly be apprehended and jailed.

Back in the hub, Jagos decided to search for a bounty board to see if there were any current bounties that may be of interest to him.

After he walked away from the little monkey men, he thought about what language they spoke. He was heading to the bar for a drink. when he went around the corner, he bumped into a girl. "Sorry to bump into you. You okay?" Cedric said. "Yeah don't worry, i'll survive a bump now and then" Davin responded. "You want a drink at the bar?" Cedric seemed like she needed a drink. She said she should check the computer. After they took a look it seemed all fine. they went to the bar. Had some drinks and talked about their lives before they went to work on the Orion Bounty Hunter Guild. They spoke for houres. Cedric looked at her PDA and said that she should check something, she left

Davin stayed for a few more houres then went back to his cabin. While walking he glared at the computer screen flickering "error". it was too late to think normally. went to his cabin and fell asleep

Kaiyan didn't seem to be in a good place emotionally, that much Xytan could tell. His "apprentice" that he talked of, she clearly meant something a lot more to him than Kaiyan perhaps cared to admit.

This charade was easily seen-through however, as twice he had almost called her his daughter. Xytan could tell a close bond had grown between them, not that he had known before as he personally had only seen the girl once for a brief moment.

However this side of Kaiyan, along with his story of how she was kidnapped elicited memories of Xytan's own. He did indeed know what it felt to lose people close to you. His mind briefly flashed back to his years of service on his home planet. His previous life, his family... the disastrous events that lead to his exile.

Xytan shook off these memories and emotions when he realised that Kaiyan had asked him for help saving his apprentice. Under normal circumstances, perhaps Xytan would have looked for some monetary benefit in order to consider saying yes.. but something had changed.

This was Kaiyan, one of the few friends he had made in a long time and somewhat of a brother in arms. And he was asking for help not for some bounty, but out of personal need. Would he really abandon all of his morals regardless of his present occupation?

"Yes," Xytan finally answered. "I will be glad to help you." He said, in what almost sounded like an uncharacteristically sympathetic tone. The lights in the station briefly flickered. Xytan looked up and around, though he did not get long enough to process the minor disturbance.

His comms blared again with Cedric's voice, reporting a power surge, which seemed to correlate with faint signal she had picked up outside the station. Xytan scowled.

While it was tempting to pass off this and the previous happening as mere issues with the station's maintenance, at the same time Xytan found it difficult to ignore.. and faint signals did not just pop up in space. Especially in such an isolated region of it. He watched as Cedric walked past only moments later, and turned back to Kaiyan.

"So when do we embark on this mission?"

Passing Xytan and Kaiyan,Cedric marched her way towards the reactor room to investigate...Her huddled steps made the hunters step out of her way....An moment of respect for their fellows as she continued past them towards the centre of the station where the reactor room also stood.

She was at first stopped by a group of Cebin engineers who asked what her business is on such a vital part of the station. One wielded a small laser pistol and its face snarled primal teeth as they all began to question her. Asking about the unknown power surges they would shrug it off as some sort of power failure.....Blamed on the station's aging AI system rather then their hard work. But just as they began to argue about it,there was another surge.....This time the station lights dimmed.

Jagos reached one of the bounty lists.....There were names strewn across the hall with numbers of payments following suit....There was a list of hunters who claimed certain contracts and a list of unclaimed contracts....As Jagos observed the entire digitalized screen flickered once again....And then the lights dimmed.

Kaiyan nodded and thanked Xytan....Then the station lights dimmed causing the crowds around them to stop what they were doing and look around confused, some cried out to the Cebins asking them what was going on while others had their hands wrapped around their holstered weaponry. There was a creeping silence among the panicked whispers and shouts of the other crowds.

Cedric pushed past the Cebins who seemingly abandoned their posts to try and tend to the growing panic, she would stand at the door of the reactor preview chamber and open it to find a dead Cebin on the floor, the reactor manager had it's fur singed with the scent burnt flesh, next to it stood a datapad broken in two with a strange energetic spark shooting outwards,it was then that she saw perfect circle cut in the glass of the chamber preview window,a hole almost as large as her fist,a hole that broke through the reinforced superglass into the chamber itself. It was here that she saw it.....It stood upwards like a man yet it had no skin.....It shone and sparked like the energy of the reactor its hands were pointed at....It's fingers seemingly wrapped across the frame of the reactor and pulsing as it siphoned the energy.....It was only when she realized this that she came also realize that it's head turned to meet her eyes.....The faceless creature had none but she could feel it knew she was there.....It was then she heard a piercing screech that followed a gnawing sound of energy. Then the station reactor died.....And the creature dissipated in the blink of an eye....Leaving her in that room now lit in the red of the auxiliary lights.....

"Power failure......Auxiliary power activated." The mechanized voice of the station AI would cry. "Life support systems online......Defense grid offline.....Artificial gravity online.......Station stabilizers offline......Station FTL reactor offline.....System scanner array....Offline.....Sy-" It would cut short as static overtook the station AI voice.

Then silence.

An voice returned to the station broadcast system, but it was different....Direct.....And it demanded their surrender.

Explosions dotted the outside of the station as great warships systematically destroyed the station's offline defensive turrets.Swarms of fighters circled the outside, destroying the few unfortunate ships caught between leaving and docking the station. The station rocked as the kinetic shells impacted the station's hull, causing the Cebins to panic as they rushed to oversee the damages. The rest of the station was in a uproar as hunters readied themselves to be attacked, while others began to panic and cower....It was chaos with no direction and no voice to address the cause. The station's monitors were highjacked displaying a white banner carrying a red Imperial star....The relief of a dragon's skull etched into the heart of the sun....

The 1st Legion has come....

Cedric stood there with a shocked and confused look on her face for a moment before shaking her head she'd sigh rubbing her temple before rushing towards the exit of the engine room, "Seen some sort of creature commander. It was hugging the reactor and then it went out.... and the AI as well. "MOTHER FU-" She'd finish those choice words under her breath before turning around again to find help as the voice blared into the station. The engine was gone, people were now fighting for their lives, she didn't have time to try and fix it. Nor did she want to after that thing she saw did possibly unforeseeable amount of damage with the explosions going on around them as well. Carefully climbing back up to the latter she went to hunt down someone to stick by and provide support.

The explosions were causing her some issues as well knocking her around a small but but she'd manage to stay stable catching up to a group of people to stick with borrowing a gun from one of them. They looked at her with a questioning gaze and at her legs, "Seriously?! Can't a woman get any respect?" She'd mumble pushing them along, "Or did you assholes forget that the station is under attack and you guys look at a slightly handicapped person like that!? SHAMEFUL!" She'd give them all slaps on the back of the head making them go into action as they headed towards the main personal area. They knew she was pissed now and that made her happy.

"Commander I'm with a unit right now, and we are on the way to the main personal area." She'd say as the station rocked and one of the men stayed next to her in case she was about to fall, allowing her to use him as a support. "Thank you." She'd say smiling, "Just don't think this is a easy pass either." They'd chuckle some as they slowly made their way towards the lobby.

Jagos was stunned by the straightforward announcement of their impending demise. The dim lights and the various explosions weren't making it any easier on him. The brief shaking of the station nearly caused him to fall over, but he managed to regain his footing in time to avoid a passing man equipped with an assault rifle.

Everywhere people were arming themselves for the defense of the station.

"Son of a bitch!" Jagos muttered to himself as he rushed toward the central hub. Out of the frying pan and into the fire as they say.

______

The shaking of the archives caused Jean to lose her footing and fall over. Ivan shot up from the chair and jogged over to help her up. "Here's something I wasn't expecting!" Ivan said as he pulled Jean to her feet. "What are they after!?" Jean cried, quite freaked out about the entire situation.

"Whatever the case, we need to get off of this station!" Ivan said as he armed himself with his shotgun. "They'll blow us up if we try to leave through the hangar!" Jean said as she whipped out her laser pistol.

"They said they aren't sparing anyone!" Ivan shouted as he grabbed Jean by her wrist and led her out of the archive hall.

They moved down the corridor, but didn't exactly have a clue of where to go. The hangars would most likely soon be full of enemy troops. For now they just kept navigating the station like hamsters in a maze, hopeful that they would find either a way off of the station or a place to hide.

______

The shaking caused many of the beverages behind the bartender to fall, creating a symphony of shattering glass. Patrons were in a complete state of confusion and panic, many of whom were trying to clear out of the bar either to bring the fight to whoever tried to take over the station or hide.

Nev looked behind him at the chaos and said, "Sounds like an army wishes to fight us!"

"Your eagerness scares me sometimes Nev!" Staffan yelled above the noise as people continued to file out. Nev happily equipped his machine gun and that was when Staffon noticed a figure lying in a crumpled position against one of the tables. He walked over and saw that it was a human woman with an open head wound that was bleeding heavily. She was alive, but in quite a daze.

Judging from how she was lying, Staffan concluded that she had tried to equip her SMG, which lay by her side, and the rough reaction of the bar attendants caused her to fall over and hit her head quite hard.

Staffan didn't waste a second and took a small spray can out of his medical kit. He aimed it at the woman's forehead and applied a green foam-like substance to her wound. She cringed at the brief sting of pain, but her wound soon closed up. The medic used his sleeve to wipe off the excess foam and blood and whispered to her, "That should stop the bleeding. Can you walk?"

The woman nodded and stood, but it was soon clear that she was still quite out of it as she grabbed her weapon and stumbled out into the corridor.

Nev strolled over to the exit and waited for Staffan, eager to enter the upcoming fight.

The lights suddenly went out and for a few seconds, everything was silent. Then they came back on, this time red to signify the fact that the station was now running on auxiliary power. The station's AI began to list everything that was and wasn't working on the station, meanwhile Xytan had begun to deduce what had exactly happen when the AI's voice was suddenly cut off.

Through the speakers came the voice of the Grand Imperator. They were under attack. The station shook and rumbled as the invading fleet fired upon it. Alarms began to blare and each and every single screen sported the insignia of the attacking party. The entire station was full of activity and voices - panic and alarm mostly while some others banded together to discuss tactics and prepare for the upcoming battle.

Xytan turned to Kaiyan. "Stick with me." He said to him as he began to move away from the current area. He walked at a fast pace until they both reached one of the main social hubs of the station. The place was quite big - designed to simulate a real life garden complete with a grass patch, trees, bushes and benches as well as a central water fountain elevated on a platform - a fountain that was no longer working.

Xytan made his way towards the fountain with intent, stepping up and into it. The water came up to his shins as he waded through the water until he reached the centre. He then proceeded to unholster grenade pistol sidearm and point it into the air. He fired off three shots, taking out three red lights above him. The chaos around them quitened as everyone turned to face him.

"Remain quiet!" Xytan barked at everyone in an authoritative tone. There was next to utter silence now, as no one dared go against his instruction. "We haven't much time on our hands so I will make this simple," He continued. "This station is under attack and already we are running on auxiliary power." While he spoke, his technopathic ability allowed him to freely access the station's complimentary systems. In this case, he chose to relay his voice through the entire station's speakers, ensuring that everyone, no matter where on the station, could listen to him.

"THIS STATION'S SUPERLUMINAL DRIVES ARE OFFLINE. THERE IS A FLEET OUTSIDE THREATENING TO SHOOT DOWN ANY OF YOU THAT DARE TRY ESCAPE. WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. IN ORDER TO SURVIVE, WE MUST ALL WORK TOGETHER. THAT MEANS COMPLETE AND UTTER COOPERATION. YOU WILL ALL DIVIDE INTO SEPARATE TEAMS FOR DIFFERENT TASKS DEPENDING ON YOUR SPECIALTIES.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SPECIALISE IN ENGINEERING, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR WAYS TOWARDS THE STATION'S ENGINE ROOMS AND DIVERT POWER TO THE STATION'S DEFENCES MANUALLY. FOR THOSE OF YOU EXPERIENCED IN SHIP-TO-SHIP COMBAT, MAKE YOUR WAYS TOWARDS THE CENTRAL CONTROL ROOM. FROM THERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MANUALLY CONTROL THE GUNS MOUNTED ON THE STATION. USE THEM TO ELIMINATE AS MANY SHIPS AS POSSIBLE.

AND FOR THOSE AMONG YOU WHO ARE THE BEST AT FIGHTING. SPLIT INTO YOUR FIRE-TEAMS AND COVER EVERY POSSIBLE HANGAR OR DOCKING BAY. PREPARE FOR BOARDING ACTION. IF ANY OF YOU WISH TO LIVE, THEN PREPARE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES."

Xytan disconnected himself from both the station and the fountain, stepping down next to Kaiyan.
"Any suggestions as to what task we should undertake?" Xytan asked him.

After Xytan's speech, Davin went to his room. He still had a headache of drinking too much the night before. As he ran into the room, he looked out the window and saw a gigantic fleet of ships. All the spotlights were focused on their ship. He no longer saw a star. He ran to the drawer where he had stored his tools, he opened it and took out a bottle.Took a sip stopped it back looked out again. He sighed and ran out of the room with the tools and his rifle.

The closer he got to the engine room, the more chaotic it was.
He ran into the room to cedric and said, laughing, "need some help?" Cedric was dead seriously and said, "Now is not the time to make jokes." Davin smiled as he walked to the leftover of the engine.

Kaiyan was visibly shaken,he found it hard to believe about what just transpired.

"Stick with me" Xytan ordered,to which Kaiyan nodded, following the tall cybernetic hunter as they moved to the more central social hubs of the station, closer to the heart of it where the credit vault stood. Even now people scattered across the station in panic,as Kaiyan passed one of the windows that revealed the outside of the station he could see the frames of the Imperial warships in the distance. He found it funny.....Ever since his youth until this point those same warships used to make him feel safe....He wondered just how much has changed since his self-imposed exile......He feared the coming moments.....And the muffled hiss of the Grand Imperator echoed in his mind.

Then Xytan fired, his grenade pistol's rounds exploding high above against the roof, causing all to grow silent and bringing the reptilian's mind back towards the current situation. Xytan took control of the situation, asserting authority among the panicked mass....It seemed so surreal....Like the legends of old.....The history of what was and what is.....Of great warrior kings rising above chaos to command and assert order.....But who can call himself king among a mass of murder.....And who could stop a tide of steel?

Xytan finished his rally and stepped down towards Kaiyan asking for advice.

Kaiyan sighed and gritted his teeth, his eyes aimed to the floor as he gathered thoughts. "This does not make sense......Why is the first attacking......I recall their final orders to remain behind on the Capital as a defensive force only......Unless...Dear gods" He soon came to the realization.

"This is a red campaign." He turned to Xytan. "The Grand Imperator will attempt to board the station......His is an ground force......We cannot allow their ships to dock and their legionarres to set foot here.....If they do the chances of us pushing them back become slim....We need to try and restart the primary reactor.....And use the station's FTL-drive to escape the system....Have the turrets focus on transport ships, their shells and beams won't do much against the steel and shielding of the warships. You and I should join in the fire teams and help to hold the line." Kaiyan grabbed Xytan's arm.

"You need to understand......If we do not get that FTL-Drive online......I cannot say what he would do."

The Imperial fleet remained in formation, the roar of the cannons silent in the void of space as it tore across the station, slowly tearing down the defense cannons that littered the station hull.

In the centre of the L formation of the fleet stood the INS 'Wroth'. The Grand Imperator's personal battleship and following the destruction of the Staradmiral's own ship was now the largest single vessel in the Imperium. It's gigantic hull dwarfed the few battleships that escorted it,littered across it was massive railgun turrets that stretched almost as high as sky scrapers, the tip of the hull was reinforced and the nose of the ship was designed to look like a angry gaping maw with turrets as teeth and a massive barrel of some weapon as a throat. The ship lacked the elegant designs of the other Imperial vessels,it retained a style of pure pragmatism with little to show besides steel and shield. Perched near the back of the ship stood the reinforced bridge of the command deck.

"No news on their terms to surrender my lord." The human officer turned from the visual display that showed the station. The human was clad in the attire of Imperial military officers but draped in the colours of white and dark crimson red instead of the standard grey of the Imperial army or the black of the navy. The 1st legion was distinct among the other military forces of the Imperium, theirs was a legion as old as the empire itself...Having seen battles since the ancient Unification Wars up to the recent Helix War,the 1st legion wore it's battlescars proudly. But some scars run deep...

"Should we sound the advance mi'lord?" The cleanshaven officer asked, his hands tied behind his back as he walked closer to the the circular map that displayed a hologram of the station in the air between them. The map itself was not as detailed as they hoped....Information was hard to obtain on something as illusive as Orion Station...Even with the web of spies the I.I.F fielded.

The muffled and strained voice of Grand Imperator bellowed alongside the hiss of exchanging air filters. "They defy us.....Prepare the Vanguard and send in the Penal battalions......Have them whittle down what little they can arrange to meet us.....Then ssss-" The sound of filters overtook his voice. "Ssssignal the advance."

The Grand Imperator remained seated in the shadow of his chair, metallic claws rested against the armchairs of his seat. The human officer bowed his head. "Very well my lord." He turned placing his hand against his ear.

"This is Strategos Uther to the Vanguard....Prepare the Penal troops."

------

Minutes pass as dropships began to appear from the open hangars of the troop transport freighters, escorted by several fighters this small fleet carried towards the station unopposed.

The station faced grim odds.

The primary reactor was offline, what little power the station kept was to maintain the life support systems and gravity alongside emergency lighting and limited control systems. In theory Xytan's plan to reroute power towards the station's turrets may provide them with precious time and a means to delay the Imperial advance, but in doing so they ran the risk of having one of the other systems fail. Whatever siphoned the stations power beforehand left little remaining for the FTL-Drive.

Even with the station's weapons systems they had little to match the firepower of the Imperial fleet but they could direct their fire to the exposed transports that ferried the soldiers of the legion towards the docking bays, allowing the fire teams that defended the hangar bays more time to setup a defense against a wounded foe.

United in the interest of self-preservation the hunters of Orion stood in defiance against the Fist of the Imperos, but even as the snake coiled around the station they realized that victory was slim and even if they did triumph...What would be the cost?
